Home Healthcare Semaglutide For Weight Loss

Thinking about semaglutide for weight loss, but worried about safety? At Medix Urgent Care Center, we use evidence-based care to help you decide.

In clinical trials, once-weekly semaglutide with lifestyle changes led to an average weight loss of around 15% at 68 weeks.  For adults with excess weight and established heart disease, semaglutide also lowered major cardiovascular events by about 20%.

Most side effects are temporary stomach symptoms, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, often eased by slow dose increases. Semaglutide isn’t for everyone: avoid if you or a family member has medullary thyroid cancer or MEN2; use caution with a history of pancreatitis or gallbladder disease; and it isn’t recommended during pregnancy. Current FDA review has not found evidence that GLP-1 drugs cause suicidal thoughts, but patients should report new mood changes.

Talk with our healthcare team to see whether semaglutide is right for you and to build a safe, personalized plan.
